Problems with installation
Are you having problems installing Diktuon? There are a number of possible problems and solutions listed below:
Error message during installation
If you get an error message during the installation such as "... An error appears when replacing the existing file...." or "... Can't register the file ..." then other applications are still open. Close all other applications before you install Diktuon.
If the message still persists then click on the [Ignore] or [Continue] button to continue the installation. In most cases there will not be any further problems.
Error message when using Windows 98
If you use Windows 98 then it might be that not all Windows components are installed on your computer. If you get an error message such as "... ADO provider not found ..." or "Can't install OCX/DLL ...", then follow these instructions:
- First install the Microsoft DCOM98 file (this is an extra Windows component).
- Install the Microsoft MDAC file (this is an extra Windows component).
Then restart your computer. Diktuon will now work.
Error message when using Windows 95
If you use Windows 95 then it might be that not all Windows components are installed on your computer. If you get an error message such as "... ADO provider not found ..." of "Can't install OCX/DLL ...", then follow these instructions:
- First install the Microsoft DCOM95 file (this is an extra Windows component).
- Install the Microsoft MDAC file (this is an extra Windows component).
Then restart your computer. Diktuon will now work.
